02/21/2024 – STF1 Deorbited

As of February 21, 2024, STF1 was tracked to have deorbited and disintegrated in the atmosphere. This marked around 1830 days of in-orbit operations for the craft! We were able to continue passes to communicate and collect data from the craft until February 16th, when our final communications with the craft occurred. We’ll close out the mission with some of the best pictures we’ve taken over the years! It has been an amazing journey for the team to be able to build from the simulation to something that was able to fly and gather scientific data for around 5 years, and proving the value of digital twin technology for assuring smooth operations in flight by testing things on Earth.
